About #beautyundiscovered

We started #beautyundiscovered campaign believing that beauty exists in all animals, in this particular case, shelter animals. The campaign seeks to shred the common misconceptions of adopting shelter animals, and we encourage you to see beauty beyond imperfections.

In this episode, we worked closely with Purely Adoptions and Love Kuching Project by bringing them out to the public through Pawfest 2019 split across two days. On Saturday, our team introduced Purely Adoptions' rescues on stage with their fosterers for a catwalk segment. On Sunday, Love Kuching Project’s team of volunteers brought their cats for a showcase on what is cat therapy with members of the public. Through this, we hope to bridge and see a change in public perception of these rescues, and ultimately - hoping that will be able to find their fur-ever home.

We have previously worked with SOSD and Cat Welfare Society to raise public awareness and general acceptance on shelter animals. By weaving in professional photography and pet's fashion, we dressed them up with our exclusive range of PawGlam! Collars to draw out the innate - unseen beauty that we don't usually perceive in shelter animals. The photos taken from these two campaigns were also featured as an exhibition at Pawfest, for the public's viewing.

About Purely Adoptions

Purely Adoption began in 2009 through Facebook - with the objective of sharing people’s post about puppies, stray animals and pets up for adoptions. This proved to be a useful platform as the followers swelled up to 15,000 followers in a span of 3 years.

As the popularity grew, so did they became increasingly aware of the constraints of rescuer's and stray feeder's needs. Their scope went beyond Facebook as they started speaking with stray feeders, visiting shelters and talking to pioneers in the rescue scene.

Despite the intensive resources needed, the volunteers commitment to help rescues find a home gives them a sense of happiness and purpose and their journey continues till this day.

About Love Kuching Project

Made out of a community of cat lovers and rescuers in Singapore, Love Kuching's Project focuses on 3 distinctive areas - namely Rehabilitation, Adoption and Outreach.

The network of rescuers extend their efforts by focusing on rehabilitating at-risk community cats through vet care and socialisation for potential adopters. And their work doesn't stop there - the team conducts feline assisted therapy as part of their outreach initiatives, with seniors in nursing homes, students and as well as children and young adults with special needs, which was the one of the highlights of this episode of #beautyundiscovered.
